Euro Armenian Games 2025

Important updates on Volleyball rules, inclusion of double badminton and double table tennis

Date: 13 January 2025

We would like to inform you of the important updates regarding the volleyball rules introduction of double table tennis and badminton. Based on a comprehensive benchmark analysis of international volleyball standards, we have decided to implement a modification to the team composition rule for the volleyball competition. We are also excited to announce the introduction of two new tournaments for the upcoming European Armenian Games (EAG) event: doubles badminton and doubles table tennis.

Volleyball

Updated Rule on Team Composition:
Previously, the rule stipulated that a volleyball team should have a maximum of 3 male players on the field at any given time. Following our review, we find it necessary to adjust this regulation to better align with international practices and promote and encourage a balanced playing environment.
Effective immediately, the updated rule is:
“A minimum of 2 female players must be on the field at all times during the game.”

This change encourages the creation of new teams and provides an opportunity to mobilize volleyball teams locally, involving all participants from Armenian organizations.
Please note that this update has been documented in the volleyball rules section on our website.

Double team table tennis and badminton

As part of our new initiative, we have provided a comprehensive set of rules for each of these tournaments. These rules are essential for understanding the structure, gameplay, and regulations for both doubles badminton and doubles table tennis. The official rules has been documented in the section individual sports section under table tennis and badminton.
The remaining rules outlined in the official tournament guidelines remain unchanged.

We kindly ask all teams, participants, and local organizations to ensure that the new rules are followed in preparation for the competition and will be enforced during the upcoming EAG games in Sofia.
We look forward to a competitive and enjoyable tournament for all participants and teams!
