Volleyball

General

1. A volleyball team consists of a maximum of 10 players and 1 coach. It is played 6 against 6

2. Only one non-European athlete per team sports is eligible to take part (first come first serve principle). It’s not allowed that any sports team can have more than one non-Armenian participant. Non-Armenians who have proven (ID card or other governmental document) first-degree (married or child) family relation with an Armenian person are not counted as non-Armenian players

3. For the team sports athletes, the minimum age is 14+ years. Athletes turning this age during the year of the EAG will be accepted.

4. The team should have maximum 3 male players in the field during the game

5. It is played using the rally point system

6. A coin toss determines which team starts with serve

7. The “standard” size court is 18 m × 9 m. The net height is 2,35 m

8. The flooring is based on hard material

 

Group stage

9. During the group stage the total amount of sets is determined by the EAG host

10. The set ends when one team has 25 points and won with at least two points more than the opponent

11. The maximum game length limit is determined by the EAG host

12. If the match is still not decided after the maximum game time, the team with the most points wins

13. In case of an equal number of points, a winning point will be played

14. No show on time (EAG schedule) means automatic loss of the game

 

Final stage

15. During the knockout stage and the final the game length is determined by the EAG host

16. A total number of sets is determined by the EAG host

17. Points per set is determined by the EAG host

18. The set ends when one team has achieved the set points determined by the EAG host and won with at least two points more than the opponent

19. The maximum game length limit is determined by the EAG host

20. If the match is still not decided after the maximum game time, the team with the most points wins

21. In case of an equal number of points, a winning point will be played

22. No show on time (EAG schedule) means automatic loss of the game

 

Basic rules

23. A player can’t touch the ball twice in succession

24. Each team may contact the ball up to three times before it’s played to the opponent

25. The ball must be played over the net (played between the antennas and it’s not allowed to touch the antennas). The ball is allowed to touch the net

26. A player can’t touch the playing field of the opponent. The centreline is associated with both playing fields. Feet and hands,  must be completely on the line in order to be understood as a fault

27. In case the ball touches the net at a service the game will continue

28. A team scores a point by playing the ball on the field of the opponent (within the lines or on the line) or by an opponent mistake

29. When a team scores a point, They also have to right for the service

30. The serving team must rotate in a clockwise direction

31. Before the start of a new rally a player can be changed. A player that is substituted for the same player may be redeemed but may not be substituted

32. No time out are possible during the game

 

Points

2 points for a winning match

0 points for a lost game or by disqualification

 

Poule

When teams in the group stage has an equal number of points,  first the points difference counts

– Example: 48 points for and 43 points against counts as + 5

If the points difference is equal, the number of scored points is counting

When the number of scored points is also equal, the mutual result counts

 

During the tournament the house rules and general terms and conditions of the Euro Armenian Games are applicable.
